Dear Friends,  Yes, it's TRUE! For almost 25 years it's been my good luck to learn about better health — how to get there — and share that valuable information with others. I haven’t always been “hungry” for knowledge about finding realistic weight goals, more energy and a healthier lifestyle... no, not hardly!In the beginning, I was a size 18. I was over-weight, depressed with the state of my energy, health, looks, and began to wonder...When does that one extra “taste” dissolve into tighter clothes? I think back to when my self esteem became crippled: looking into a mirror and reflecting back at me was a person whom I didn’t want to be. Feelings of helplessness and despair chipping away at the person I knew I was inside.Remembering... a day I ran into a high school friend who looked at me in surprise and asked when the baby was due. A heavy cloak of sadness surrounded me, my voice cracking as I cleared my throat and muttered, “It’s the holiday foods; it’ll come off in January." The pain of her words lingered. They echoed from the open clothes closet every morning, or when I saw my figure reflected in a window. Those words continued to echo season after season as I became larger than the season before — my clothes didn't fit — even my shoes were getting too tight to wear!Inside I knew who I really was, that I have a good heart and a good brain. Yet my wavering sense of self-esteem drained more of “me” away every single day.I waxed and waned for a few more years, going from telling myself I was confident in “me” regardless of my weight or size, and then slipping back to tears as yet another “quick-fix” diet failed to work. The old “it’s from my pregnancy” line wasn’t true. After all, how long does that last anyway? During those stressful years I did have a beautiful baby boy. That darling new baby, coupled with stress, added more padding to my already blossomed body.After my son was born, I happened to enroll in a parenting course. Strangely, this started my life-changing course of action. In class I met a contemporary claiming her thighs were too big (from her pregnancy, of course!) and that she needed to lose weight. With a disbelieving expression on my face, I looked at a girl that wanted to go from a size 4 to a size 2! She claimed to know someone with a natural product that she was going to try. As I finished class, I remember thinking... how could a size four complain? I thought: without exercising all the time (Who had the energy for that? Especially with a young child in the house!), and starving oneself, or holding back on the reward of ice cream at the end of the day... nothing really works. Oh well, good luck to her!A short time later my friend was wearing size 2 shorts and enjoying the summer.
